As essential workers throughout the pandemic, Security Officers in the Chicago metro area have been keeping people and buildings safe.

As essential workers throughout the pandemic, Security Officers in the Chicago metro area have been keeping people and buildings safe. When it came time for them to negotiate their union contract, these Security Officers, members of SEIU Local 1, knew they had an opportunity to stand up, speak out, and win.

Win they did!

Their union contract has the following wins:

Significant wage increases
Juneteenth as a paid holiday
Cap on mandatory overtime hours
Strong language around health insurance

With this win, these Security Officers put money in their pockets and their communities over the next three years. These Officers show us that when we stand up and speak out, we can make changes!
