Negotiations Resume But Targeted Walkout Still Possible San Francisco, CA - Nine people were arrested earlier today while supporting 7,000 Bay Area and Los Angeles security officers who have been negotiating for good jobs since November. The arrests come on the same day contract negotiations with security companies resumed.
"It's good news that our employers are talking to us again," says officer Keven Adams, of ABM Security. "But over the past six months we've seen that even when we're at the table, they can drag things out, delaying the creation of good jobs that our communities need now." After a brief march through downtown San Francisco, protesters blocked the intersection of First and Market Streets.Nine protesters were arrested--including leaders of the San Francisco Labor Council, ACCE (Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment), Service Employees International Union Local 87, and Service Employees International Union Local USWW.
